As Vietnam decides to restart its nuclear power development program and establish supporting legal frameworks and policies for atomic energy, VINANST 16 carries significant importance — marking a key milestone not only for Vietnam’s atomic energy sector but also for the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute as its core driver.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Le Xuan Dinh, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, emphasized that developing atomic energy is a long-term national strategy to ensure energy security and sustainable growth. He stressed the need for coordinated implementation, high-quality human resource development, robust policies, and strengthened international cooperation.

He further affirmed that the 16th National Conference on Nuclear Science and Technology serves as an essential platform gathering domestic and international experts to exchange new research results, update advanced technologies, and provide insights for policy-making and future development of atomic energy in Vietnam.
Sharing the same perspective, Mr. Dae Ki Kim, Director of the RCARO Office, underscored the importance of international collaboration and knowledge sharing amid rapid advancements in artificial intelligence and nuclear technology. He noted that nuclear power currently accounts for 9–10% of global electricity production, with more than 400 nuclear power plants operating in over 30 countries, forming a strong foundation for future expansion.

Within its three-day agenda, VINANST 16 features 206 scientific papers, including 117 presentations and 89 posters, divided into one plenary session and seven specialized panels. The plenary session on October 8 focuses on advanced nuclear technologies, discussing achievements, trends, and contributions from leading nuclear nations.
According to Dr. Tran Chi Thanh, President of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM), this is the time for the sector to adopt “new vision, new capability, and high-quality human resources” to meet future development demands.

Da Nang affirms its role as a hub of innovation
Hosting VINANST 16 once again reinforces Da Nang’s position as the scientific, technological, and innovation center of Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands. With its dynamic innovation ecosystem and world-class convention infrastructure, Da Nang is becoming a trusted destination for major scientific and technological events, promoting knowledge exchange and international cooperation.

Image 7: Ariyana Convention Centre, Furama Resort Danang – the venue of this major scientific event
In his speech, Mr. Pham Duc An, Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, affirmed that the selection of Da Nang as host city reflects the Ministry of Science and Technology’s confidence in the city’s scientific capacity. It further highlights Da Nang’s growing role as a regional center for science, technology, and innovation.
He emphasized that atomic energy for peaceful purposes is increasingly applied in socio-economic fields, contributing significantly to Vietnam’s industrialization and modernization. Da Nang aims to continue receiving support from ministries, research institutes, and international partners in applying nuclear technologies for socio-economic development, workforce training, and innovation enhancement.

VINANST 16 serves as an opportunity for Da Nang to access cutting-edge scientific research and policy insights, laying the foundation for evidence-based policymaking in atomic energy and sustainable development. The city aspires to become a “City of Innovation”, where knowledge, technology, and people converge to shape the future — alongside its well-known image as a “City of Tourism.”
WHAT MAKES DA NANG AN ATTRACTIVE DESTINATION FOR INDIAN TRAVELERS?
Da Nang is gradually becoming a “must-visit” destination for Indian travelers—those who enjoy journeys that combine relaxation with exploration. With blue seas, distinctive culture, diverse cuisine, and reasonable costs, this central coastal city is rising as a new symbol of Asian tourism.
The Indian Travel Trend Toward Da Nang
In recent years, Da Nang has recorded a significant increase in the number of visitors from India. In 2024, the city welcomed more than 222,000 Indian visitors, accounting for nearly half of the total number of Indian arrivals to Vietnam (Source: Da Nang tourism market promotion in India – Anh Dao). In addition, the new direct flight route between Ahmedabad and Da Nang, launched in October 2024 with two round trips per week, has made travel to the coastal city more convenient for Indian tourists.
The latest reports also show that in the first quarter of 2025, Da Nang welcomed more than 2.54 million visitors, marking a 19% increase compared to the same period, with international arrivals rising by as much as 42% (Source: Da Nang served more than 2.5 million visitors in Q1 – Hai Chau). These figures demonstrate Da Nang’s strong momentum in tourism recovery.
Why Does Da Nang Win Over Indian Travelers?
Natural Landscapes and Outdoor Experiences
Part of Da Nang’s success comes from the harmonious blend of beautiful nature, refined culture, and attention to the specific needs of Indian travelers. My Khe Beach stretches for 8–9 kilometers, featuring fine white sand, gentle waves, and warm waters, and has been ranked by Forbes magazine among the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Da Nang is not only famous for its blue seas and white sand but is also appealing thanks to spiritual attractions and cultural heritage sites that resonate with Indian travelers. Notable highlights include Linh Ung Pagoda on the Son Tra Peninsula, home to the 67-meter-tall statue of the Goddess of Mercy—the tallest outdoor Buddha statue in Vietnam—set within a serene complex overlooking Da Nang Bay. Nearby, the Marble Mountains comprise five marble hills symbolizing the five elements, where visitors can explore caves and temples and enjoy panoramic views of My Khe Beach from impressive heights.

Culture, Cuisine, and Spiritual Connection
For Indian travelers, religious beliefs and dietary preferences play a vital role. Da Nang has been developing a network of vegetarian and Halal-friendly restaurants to cater to Indian needs, allowing visitors to enjoy delicious food while fully respecting their beliefs and eating habits. In addition, elements of spiritual culture—such as meditation, yoga, and festivals—naturally connect with the spiritual values deeply cherished by Indian travelers.
Reasonable Costs and High-Quality Services
Compared to many prominent beach destinations in the region, Da Nang offers more competitive costs for accommodation, dining, and transportation while still meeting international standards. Five-star resorts and wellness services are being heavily invested in to meet the high expectations of international guests.
As the Da Nang experience map expands from beaches to mountains, culture, and cuisine, many travelers seek a place to “anchor”—a destination where they can enjoy tranquility while remaining close to major attractions. Among these choices, Furama Resort Da Nang stands out as an ideal retreat.

TÀYA HOUSE – A VEGETARIAN PARADISE FOR INDIAN TOURISTS IN DA NANG
On their journey to explore Da Nang, Indian tourists will find a peaceful stop at Tàya House within Furama Resort Danang. More than just a restaurant, it is a unique cultural rendezvous where vegetarian cuisine, heritage architecture, and a philosophy of serenity blend into a complete experience.
Vegetarianism – Culture and Belief of Many Indian Tourists
For Indians, vegetarianism is not only a dietary habit but also tied to a philosophy of life and spiritual belief. According to Pew Research Center, about 39% of adults in India identify themselves as vegetarians, with a higher rate among Hindus (44%). Particularly, groups such as the Jains practice strict vegetarianism, regarding it as a way to embody ahimsa – the principle of non-violence and respect for life. (Source: Eight-in-ten Indians limit meat in their diets, and four-in-ten consider themselves vegetarian – Manolo Corichi).

Therefore, when traveling, Indian tourists always seek places that serve vegetarian dishes that are both clean and culturally appropriate. Tàya House is the perfect answer to that desire.
Tàya House – A Northwestern Stilt House in the Heart of the Coastal City

In the middle of Da Nang’s seaside, Tàya House opens a rustic Northwestern corner where heritage and nature harmonize in every detail.
The first highlight upon entering Tàya House is the heritage space. Reconstructed from a Muong Khụ stilt house over a hundred years old, Tàya House resembles a miniature Northwest in coastal Da Nang. Each piece of ironwood and rosewood, each ceremonial chest, or a painting by artist Hoang Tuyen tells a unique story about the identity of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups. Stepping inside feels like moving from majestic mountains into Da Nang’s blue sea – a fascinating harmony.

Tàya House is a journey back to serenity – where soft light, century-old wood, and subtle flavors together narrate a cultural story.
If the first floor of Tàya House brings diners back to rustic Northwestern memories, the second floor opens up an entirely different world – peaceful and tranquil. It is like a “silent retreat” reserved for the soul. Gentle light shines through the window, revealing the green Lagoon Garden. Here, guests can slowly sip a cup of herbal tea, enjoy refreshing kombucha, or simply sit with a book, letting their breath flow with the rhythm of nature.

Unlike the rustic Northwestern atmosphere of the first floor, the second floor of Tàya House opens a tranquil world.
Beyond relaxation, the second floor also serves as an open space for complete wellness experiences. Gentle yoga sessions in the breeze or quiet meditation hours here bring balance to both body and mind. For Indian tourists who value serenity in every journey, this space feels like a slow melody that restores balance after a long day of exploring Da Nang.
The Philosophy of Pure Cuisine – A Vietnam-India Fusion
Cuisine at Tàya House is built on the spirit of “Eat Clean – Live Healthy,” where each vegetarian dish is not only about taste but also part of a wellness journey. Made from seasonal organic ingredients, the dishes here bring lightness, purity, and full nutrition.

Pure, light, and nutritious – the vegetarian culinary experience at Tàya House.
The special highlight is the Organic Vegetarian Mushroom Hotpot Combo (VND 968,000 net/2 guests). Over 20 types of fresh mushrooms and vegetables blend in a naturally sweet broth, served with Udon noodles and special dipping sauces.

Additionally, Tàya House offers healthy beverage options such as herbal tea, kombucha, and fresh juices. Furama Resort & Villas Da Nang proudly offers international travelers not only a luxurious holiday, but also a meaningful journey that touches the heart of Vietnam.
WHY IS DA NANG BECOMING THE “NEW BALI” FOR INDIAN TRAVELERS?
Da Nang is rapidly rising on the international tourism map, especially in the eyes of Indian travelers. The city is being regarded as the “new Bali” thanks to its reasonable travel costs and the availability of direct flights from many major cities. Beyond that, Da Nang offers a rare combination of beaches, mountains, culture, and cuisine within a single destination.
Affordable Costs with Greater Value Compared to Bali
One of the key factors that has made Indian travelers “fall in love” with Da Nang is its more affordable travel costs compared to Bali. According to a survey by Agoda, 67% of Indian travelers said they are willing to return to Vietnam due to the convenience and affordability the destination offers (Source: The captivating beauty of Phu Quoc and Da Nang – Top destinations for Indian travelers – Duong Nam Hoang). In reality, Vietnam in general, and Da Nang in particular, is emerging as a more budget-friendly alternative to other island and beach destinations in the region, while still ensuring a luxurious experience. Many five-star resorts and high-end hotels in Da Nang provide service quality comparable to Bali, but at a more comfortable price point.

At Furama Villas Da Nang, for example, guests can choose a cooking class experience at Tàya House combined with accommodation, applicable for stays booked from October 1 to December 26, 2025. The program opens a journey into Vietnamese cuisine. Instead of simply tasting the dishes, guests are guided step by step to prepare signature Central Vietnamese specialties themselves—from fresh, light spring rolls to traditional noodle dishes with golden strands and rich flavors. This is not merely a cooking class, but an opportunity to experience culture through every ingredient and every kitchen technique, helping guests gain deeper insight into the essence of Vietnamese cuisine in a warm and intimate exchange setting.

As a result, both couples and families can easily find experiences tailored to their needs.

Unprecedented Air Connectivity
If Bali once held an advantage thanks to its direct flights from India, Da Nang is now becoming just as accessible with a growing number of new direct routes. In recent years, Vietnamese airlines have continuously launched direct flights connecting major Indian cities with Da Nang.
Thanks to improved aviation infrastructure, Indian travelers from Delhi or Mumbai now need only around 5–6 hours of non-stop flight time to reach Da Nang. Even from cities such as Bengaluru or Hyderabad, travelers can take a short flight to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City and connect to a domestic flight of less than one hour to reach Da Nang. The total travel time is comparable to, or even shorter than, a journey to Bali. Direct flights without transit visa requirements allow Indian travelers to save significant time, cost, and effort.
“All-in-One” – Beaches, Mountains, Culture, and Cuisine in One Destination
A standout reason Da Nang is likened to the “new Bali” is its ability to offer multiple experiences within a single destination. While Bali is famous for its blue seas and distinctive Hindu culture, Da Nang goes further by harmoniously combining beaches, mountains, culture, and cuisine in one trip.
Beaches and mountains side by side: Da Nang boasts some of Asia’s top beaches, such as My Khe and Non Nuoc, with white sand and crystal-clear waters—recognized by Forbes. Just a short distance away lies Son Tra Peninsula, the city’s “green lung,” where visitors can hike, spot red-shanked douc langurs, and visit Linh Ung Pagoda.

-
Heritage and culture: From Da Nang, travelers can easily reach Hoi An, My Son, and Hue—renowned UNESCO World Heritage sites—while within the city itself, the Marble Mountains offer sacred pagodas and spiritual landmarks.

-
Diverse cuisine: Da Nang captivates visitors with its rich Central Vietnamese cuisine, fresh seafood, and notably, a wide range of Indian restaurants—many of which are Halal-certified—allowing Indian travelers to easily find flavors of home. In particular, the culinary offerings at Furama Resort Da Nang are a highlight that wins over Indian guests. All restaurants within the resort are Halal-certified under the MS 1500:2019 standard issued by JAKIM Malaysia, one of the world’s most reputable Halal standards, ensuring complete peace of mind for Muslim guests.

One must-try highlight is the Organic Mushroom Hot Pot Combo at Tàya House, Furama Villas Da Nang. This organic mushroom hot pot is a perfect blend of nutrition and flavor. Featuring a variety of organic mushrooms simmered in a rich broth, the meal is accompanied by fresh vegetables and flavorful dipping sauces. The tranquil setting by the Lagoon pool and lush garden elevates the dining experience, offering a light yet deeply satisfying meal.

– Special mushroom-based broth

Moreover, Furama Villas Da Nang proudly features an Indian Executive Chef—Chef Seikh Mursalim—who brings over 16 years of experience from international five-star hotels. Under his expertise, Indian dishes are prepared with authentic traditional flavors, allowing guests to feel as though they are enjoying a taste of home right in the heart of Da Nang.

With more affordable costs than Bali, convenient air connectivity, and a rich blend of beaches, mountains, culture, and cuisine, Da Nang is solidifying its position as the “new Bali” in the eyes of Indian travelers. This central coastal city is not merely an alternative to Bali, but a destination with the potential to become a long-term favorite for travelers from the Indian subcontinent.

HOI AN & DA NANG IN THE MOON SEASON – A CULTURAL ROUTE FOR TRAVEL ENTHUSIASTS
Every Mid-Autumn Festival, Hoi An and Da Nang transform into a brilliant “moon season route.” One side is ancient, shimmering with lanterns; the other side is modern, bustling with festivals. Two different shades yet harmonized, creating a unique and unforgettable cultural experience for visitors.
The shimmering beauty of Hoi An during Mid-Autumn
Every Mid-Autumn, Hoi An puts on a sparkling, colorful coat. The Mid-Autumn Festival in Hoi An is organized for 4 consecutive days (the 12th–15th of the lunar August), turning the ancient town into a visual feast with thousands of lanterns, decorative figures along the alleys, and countless lively activities. This is a festival that preserves traditional cultural values, while maintaining ancient crafts such as lantern-making, lion–dragon head crafting, mooncake making, and offering trays. With its long history and unique identity, Hoi An in the moon season surely enchants every cultural travel enthusiast from the first experience.

Each house hangs a few colorful Hoi An lanterns at the door, spreading magical light everywhere. Lanterns are not just decorations, but also symbolize luck and peace, carrying beautiful traditional cultural values. When night falls, the whole town transforms into a multicolored painting, shimmering under the full moon and lantern light.
Unmissable experiences in Hoi An during Mid-Autumn:
-
Strolling the ancient town to see lanterns: Every street and alley is adorned with brilliant lanterns of all shapes and colors. Visitors can leisurely walk under the magical night sky, enjoy the bustling atmosphere, and capture memorable photos.
-
Enjoying vibrant lion dances: The drumbeats, cheers, and the humorous image of Ông Địa (Earth God) bring joy to everyone. Especially, each lion head in Hoi An is meticulously crafted by artisans, creating unique and colorful designs.

- Taking a boat and releasing lanterns on Hoai River: Mid-Autumn coincides with the lantern festival, where hundreds of floating lanterns light up the poetic Hoai River.

- Joining folk games: The festive atmosphere is enhanced by folk games such as Bài Chòi, blindfolded pot smashing, and traditional singing contests.

-
Enjoying tea and mooncakes: After immersing in the lively festival, finding a traditional tea house to sip hot tea with sweet mooncakes is a special relaxing experience.
Moreover, Hoi An’s Mid-Autumn space is decorated with themed sceneries and backdrops: images of Lady Hang, Uncle Cuoi, Jade Rabbit, full moon, and star lanterns appear everywhere, allowing visitors to freely check-in.
Da Nang – modern festival experiences and unique culture
Leaving ancient Hoi An and returning to dynamic Da Nang, visitors continue the moon season cultural journey with fresh experiences. Da Nang is known as a modern tourist city yet rich in tradition, reflected in how the city organizes Mid-Autumn festivals. Typically, Da Nang annually hosts the International Lion–Dragon Dance Festival on a grand scale, gathering excellent teams from home and abroad to compete and perform. If Hoi An brings nostalgic ancient Mid-Autumn, Da Nang offers modern excitement yet imbued with traditional spirit, creating a distinct highlight in the Central Vietnam moon route.

Alongside major festivals, Da Nang impresses as many resorts incorporate local culture into guest experiences. A highlight is Furama Resort Danang & Villas Danang with its unique mooncake-making workshop for guests during the festive season.
Authentic Vietnamese Mid-Autumn at Furama Resort & Villas Danang
The workshop takes place at Tàya House, nestled in the lush Lagoon Garden within Furama Resort & Villas Danang, running from 01/09 to 10/10/2025 – right during Mid-Autumn in Vietnam. Here, guests directly experience making traditional mooncakes under meticulous guidance from the executive chef: from preparing ingredients, kneading dough, molding patterns, to baking and enjoying the freshly made cakes. Each participant can shape their own mooncake and pack it as a meaningful souvenir after the trip. Making mooncakes – the Vietnamese cultural symbol of reunion – fascinates international visitors, as they not only enjoy food but also keep a cultural memory of Vietnam.

Making sticky mooncakes by hand – a traditional Vietnamese culture
Interestingly, the workshop creates a special cultural bridge, where travelers from many countries find unexpected resonance. “For Japanese guests, it recalls the Tsukimi moon-viewing festival; for Korean guests, it feels familiar like Chuseok; for Western guests, mooncakes reveal the deep meaning of reunion.” This cultural intersection turns the workshop into not just a culinary activity, but an emotional memory, helping them understand Vietnamese customs in a warm, festive atmosphere.
From shimmering lantern-lit Hoi An to modern Da Nang with creative cultural experiences, the “moon season route” of Central Vietnam promises unforgettable emotions for travel enthusiasts. The journey is not only a geographical excursion but also a meaningful cultural voyage, helping visitors cherish and value the traditional beauty of Vietnam.
